Artists for Nature Make a Date with Sark
Fifteen of the world's top wildlife artists will be in Sark this May to take part in the Artists for Nature Foundation's Jubilee project. During the week that they are here the artists will be capturing their impressions of Sark's landscape, wildlife and community through their paintings and sculptures. They will also be working with Sark school children to encourage their interest in art and nature. It's hoped that the group will also return in the autumn. The project is being co-ordinated locally by Sark artist Rosanne Guille (MA RCA) who believes that the event will raise awareness of the island's diverse natural history and its unique way of life and the importance of protecting both. Last May the Artists for Nature Foundation's founder, Ysbrand Brouwers (photographed right with Rosanne), and film-maker Hans Rademakers were in Sark to assess the island's suitability to host the project and were delighted with what they saw here. Stocks hotel have very generously donated rooms for the artists' first visit, which will be between 4th and 16th May, and funds have been donated from other residents and businesses in Sark and beyond. Should you like to sponsor this exciting event or make a donation visit Rosanne's web site for further details.
