Friday 21st October
Talk by Professor Andrew Coates, Head of Planetary Science, Mullard Space Science Laboratory, to open the stargazing season, 12 noon at Stocks Hotel
Film Wall-E 2 - til 4pm at the Island Hall
Repeat of talk by Professor Coates - 3pm at the Island Hall
ExplorerDome Planetarium Show - 4pm & 6pm at the Island Hall
Dinner hosted by astronomer-in-residence Steve Owens - 6 til 8pm at Stocks Hotel*
Talk and star walk by astronomer-in-residence, Stock’s Hotel - 8 til 10pm*
Live music, Space Pirates of Rocquaine - 8pm at the Island Hall
Stargazing walks by resident/night carriages **
Both tonight and tomorrow night is the peak occurrence of the Orionids meteor shower!
Throughout the weekend the Visitor Centre will be open and exhibiting related subjects, selling souvenir gifts, and showing music DVDs. Please do visit. The Visitor Centre will also have programmes, information sheets and maps to help you find your way around. SAstroS members with available telescopes are marked on map with red stars. Please ring beforehand to indicate you would like to view.

Saturday 22nd October
Planetarium Shows at 2 hour intervals from 10am at the Island Hall
Music, Dance & Fun on the Millenium Field, including live music, kite flying, graffiti artist, Heavenly Body dancer and Sponsored Cosmic Cut (Andrew Prevel) - 12 til 6pm
Film - Apollo 13 - 2 til 4pm at the Island Hall
DVD - Holst’s Planet Suite with NASA fly-by footage - 5 til 6pm at the Island Hall
Paul Fletcher, performance poet - 7pm at the Island Hall

DVD and Film Shows, including “The Universe” (DVD), “Silent Running”, The Apollo Story (Sir Patrick Moore) from 11am at Stocks Hotel
Sunday Lunch (£15pp) with music by Jersey Bob at Hathaways, 12.30pm ** There will also be a Raffle at the Lunch
Event ends at 3pm, but telescopes will still be available upon request, as will star walks if weather conducive.
